Do I get a refund when a generation fails?

CreditsSep 21, 20261 min

Failed generations are refunded to your balance automatically. Learn how refunds show up, how long they are valid and what is not refundable.

Yes. If a generation fails on our side, the Plot Points it cost are returned to your balance automatically. You do not need to contact support.

How refunds work

  • Plot Points are charged when a task is accepted. If the task then fails, for example because the model returned an error or timed out, the same amount is refunded.
  • The refund appears in Credit History as a positive entry with the name of the model, usually within a few minutes of the failure.
  • Refunded points are valid for 30 days from the refund, regardless of which batch they were originally taken from. They are spent before your subscription and Booster points, so in normal use you will not lose them.
  • In an organization, the refund goes back to the shared balance, and the amount is returned to the member's quota if their current period is still running. See organization credits.

What is not refunded

  • Generations that completed successfully, even if you are not happy with the result. Try adjusting your prompt, reference assets or model settings and run again.
  • Generations that were rejected before they started, for example by the content safety check or because your balance was too low. Nothing is charged for these in the first place, so there is nothing to refund.
  • Subscription payments and Booster purchases. These are non-refundable under our Terms of Service. See cancelling your subscription.

Missing a refund?

Check Credit History first, since the refund may already be there under the model name. If a task shows as failed and no refund has appeared after an hour, use Contact support at the bottom of this page and include the approximate time and the model you used. We will look it up and put the points back.
